Hong Kong 2011-2012 120ton RAS Operation

Barramundi Blue Aquaculture was commissioned by ATAL’s HK Director Mr.  Brian Ho, to provide a complete Construction Package for the Design and construction of a 120ton Indoor Recirculative Marine System using  ATAL’s own Aquaculture Technologies  for the growing of Giant and Tiger  Grouper  in the Hong Kong, New Territories.

Commenced in April 2011 commissioning took place in   September 2011 with progressive stocking of Grouper fingerlings.  Barramundi Blue Aquaculture ‘s overall design package included  Architectural planning. Structural and Concrete Engineering design  supported with onsite  Project Management in bringing together both  cost effective construction while  successfully incorporating ATAL’s own  technology  for the indoor operating systems.  Barramundi Blue Aquaculture assisted in the sourcing of relevant equipment and materials  from reliable China suppliers taking in to consideration the need for strict biosecurity with the growing of high value fish species.  Barramundi Blue Aquaculture provided to  ATAL  operating guidelines as to disease prevention control, water management programs, and biosecurity.

Designs included backup power and air systems  supported by provision for  electronic monitoring and video surveillance systems.  The ATAL facility has the ability to expand as to  raise fish from fertilized eggs as an alternate to importing fingerlings, thus affording future consideration to stocking  at greater biomass and minimizing  initial mortality transportation rates of fingerlings.
